I have hiked a lot in Nepal and from my experiences, I have to say that The Annapurna Circuit has been the best so far. Nepal is surely a great place for hiking.
I recently found Ha Ha Tonka State Park near Camdenton, Missouri. The trails are wonderful, but my favorite part is the castle ruins! So, beautiful!! We also hike Matthiessen State Park and Starved Rock near Utica, Illinois.
It was fun when I recently travelled to Lapland. It was about -25. It was difficult to breath on these temperatures, because I’m used to live in moderate climates. So it was pretty challenging for me and my travel companions, we walked through the forest, climbed the hills, hanged out with some reindeers.
Not exactaly a hike, but walking the dogs to the mail box is good for me…. We live a mile up a dirt road in West Virginia… 400 foot elevation change to the mail box. Nice respite between morning garden tasks and afternoon garden tasks.

I love looking for history while I’m out in the woods so there is that, but mostly I like the places that I’m not likely going to run into anyone else, except for other weirdos that are hiking off the beaten path!

Lapland is the Northernmost part of Scandinavian countries, also known as “Laponia”. It’s situated above the Arctic Circle 🙂
